This simple butter cookies recipe is easy to follow and it is a good activity to do with your kids. They love to help molding the cookies. My son always have a lot of fun doing this with me!
Ingredients:
125 gr butter, softened
1/2 cup caster sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 egg at room temperature
2 cups plain flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 tbsp milk
Method:
Preheat the oven to 180 degree celcius.
Line the baking tray with baking paper.
Using an electric mixer, beat butter, sugar, and vanilla in a bowl until pale and creamy.
Add egg and mix until well combined.
Sift flour and baking powder and salt over butter mixture.
Add milk and stir until just combined.
Feel the dough with your hand - if it's too sticky, you need to add my flour.
When the dough feels right, you can start working on it.
Roll the dough flat on the surface using the rolling pin.
Stamp the cookies mold.
Move them to the baking tray lined with baking paper.
Bake for about 15 minutes.
Notes:
You can make some variation of this butter cookies.
Add chocolate powder to make chocolate cookies.
You can also add cashew nuts or chocolate crisp.
